I don't think there is much you can do with those files. Just a wild guess, but I think those are just settings and pathways to content. As suggested by the fact that Apple put them in the __hidden__ Users Library, but has put much of the content in the

Users/ / Music/ iTunes/ iTunes Media (folder)

So you are better off just backing up the Users folder and if you have moved your iTunes Library, that also.
