[MacBook] RE: iOS7

Hello to the Group,

Something new I noticed with iOS 7.0.2.

I picked the "balloons" for my Wallpaper selection.  In the locked and app screen when you tilt the iPad the balloons drift downhill.  No kidding.  Weird.

Thanks for the quick response Deddy, I see it.

I seemed to have that iTunes problem with my Fitbit account on my iPhone.

It happened to me before and I just deleted the app and then just reload it and that fixed everything until it happened again.

Hope this helps.

Good Morning all-

Not finding this Cellular Data Meter.

There is no Cellular Data in the Settings section; there is a Cellular Data in the Cellular section, but no meter in there.

Visual is a lot better than text.

Downloaded the DataMan Next, so maybe that will help.

Cheers

I found another little useful tool in iOS7.  Go to Settings/Cellular Data and you will find a cellular data usage "meter".  This is good for monitoring how much subscription you use from Verizon / ATT.  At the beginning of each purchase you can reset the meter at the very bottom of the list.

That is indeed useful if you don't have unlimited data (I have the $15 AT&T 200 MB plan myself, since I'm always near Wi-Fi). I'd recommend setting up a repeating Calendar reminder to reset that counter at the end of each billing period.

After one month where I found two mystery 60 MB uploads on my bill, I started using an app called "DataMan Next" to do all of this tracking for me. It has a few more features, can warn you of odd usage, and automatically resets at the end of your billing period. I dig it.

Bonus: "⌘ iPhone5s Promotion: Get DataMan Next for free!" right now. :)

[apple-iphone] RE: iOS 7

App updates are located by itunes automatically.  With every update to IOS comes the unknown as to which apps will have to be deleted and a replacement found.  This is becoming a royal pain.  I do hope I can either go back to IOS 6, or the apps get updated.  Apple products are less & less desirable to me.  Thanks for the reply Jim.

I doubt very highly that you will be able to return to iOS 6.

As to apps not working, did you check to see if they had been updated for iOS 7 ?
Probably all you need to do is update the apps.

I upgraded to my iPhone to iOS 7. I have upgraded iTunes. Then I tried to sync my iPad 2 which still has the older system on it. It would not let me sync using the older system. Thus is my hand being forced by Apple. So I decided okay I will upgrade my iPad 2. It took about four hours to try to upgrade by myself and then two hours plus with an Apple representative (Actually two representatives )because every time I tried to upgrade The iPad froze in the beginning of trying to restore from the cloud or from my computer after I had to totally restore my iPad. It would not upgrade without restoring it. Then it would not upgrade from previously saved syncs Turns out with the representative  we ended up restoring it as a new iPad and then had to go back into iTunes to bring back my applications that I has on the iPad before the upgrade.

*is* the other number an iPhone, or just listed as one?
Has iMessage been set up on the other iPhone?

[apple-iphone] I did the upgrade

Thanks to everyone for all the OS7 discussions!

I did the upgrade on my 4S last night. All went well -- the entire process took about an hour over wifi.

I am loving some things about it -- like the improved notifications, easy access to alarm, timer, stopwatch, and flashlight, improved lockscreen audiobook controls, and improved ability to turn off background processes easily (the two-finger-swipe access).

There is nothing (so far) that I hate about it, although I'm not completely thrilled with a few of the changes (the stupid narrow typeface for one -- yes, I turned on bold and that does help, and yes, I moved to a black wallpaper -- thanks for that suggestion btw, that's a GREAT help).

And I think some of the animation additions are pretty humorous -- just try swiping up and down repeatedly in a message screen with lots of message bubbles, for instance, and watch all the bubbles play bumper cars. ;-)

All in all, IMHO it's a worthwhile update. And I'm sure I'll be discovering many more things as time passes.

Thanks again to all those who have chipped in with experiences and ideas!

Nancy,
great suggestion for a delete all in messages!! Please send your comments to Apple feedback.
I'll do the same. That would be much better use of time than changing the icon designs!

Re: [apple-iphone] Fwd: Is my hand forced by Apple

I see it on my iPhone but I am waiting until hopefully more fixes are done.  Specifically the feature that is no longer there that can limit the amount of emails the iphone downloads.

Sorry, but we all had the option to upgrade now, or wait and see. It was well known that iOS7 requires the later version of iTunes, so we could all upgrade now, or wait and see from others how it goes, and the feedback in this forum has been extensive on what we feel, good and bad.

As Jim mentioned, they offered the upgrade, but thats all Apple did.

Now that you have been in to the store, is everything working well now?

Go in and turn the font to Bold.

I find that much better.
