I also use POP on my home computer. I use an app called Documents on my phone. You can put any pdf and doc file in it for keeping it on your phone. When I travel, I put copies of my hotel reservations, any information that i want with me, etc, in it so I have a copy of them. (I either email or text them to myself.) To put any attachment to an email or message in this app, you open the attachment and then hit the icon that you use to share files (sometimes called the action icon). It's a square with an arrow coming from it. If you have Documents installed, you will see it as a choice. Press on it and your file will be put in that app. You can put any files in folders or just leave them in a list. Doc files open, even though I do not have Word installed on my iphone. I don't know how you would use it to save an email. Perhaps you could take a screen shot of it and then save the photo.
Hope this helps,NancyIn réponse to:Thank you for taking the time to respond.
Can you explain how I can save a single email message and attachment on the telephone while still using POP on my desk computer, please?
As far as I can tell, the iPhone opens "doc" attachments without me having to install New Year particular software.
Once it's open, I want to save it.
Unlike my study computer which offers SAVE AS… , holding my finger on the 'doc' file icon does NOT offer SAVE AS… .
With best wishes and thanks
