Trying to understand the requirements to be able to quick charge recent iPhones (from 8 on, I think).
This Apple link indicates how to identify chargers that provide this option.
Can't tell if this means all chargers that are 18W and greater AND have a USB-C port or if there is more to it than that. Apple seems to say any 3rd party that says it supports USB-PD.
Does anyone know?
Apple doesn't say anything about the cable. Specifically, will any cable that has USB-C to lightning connectors do the job or are there any special features needed?
If an iPhone with fast charge (e.g. iPhone X Max) is connected to a new MacBook Pro that has USB-C connectors, will the MBP fast charge the iPhone or is a USB-PD charger needed to get the fast charge?
