When I first got my iPhone with TouchID, I set up several fingers from both hands.
It didn't take me long to realize I almost never actually used anything except by right thumb.
So I deleted the others, and recorded my right thumb in two of the memory locations in TouchID, at 2 very different angles of orientation.
I'm not sure that made a difference, but it does work better now than it did.
Again, cold or damp, or dirty, interferes with the reading.
