Re: [apple-iphone] Incomplete Download from iCloud during New 6s Setup

You have to sync the phone to get the apps back.

I traded in my 1.5 year old iPhone 5s yesterday for a new 6s at the local AT&T company store. My son's mom had given him an excellent condition 6+ for Christmas but on Verizon contract (fulfilled), so we wanted to switch his over to AT&T at the same time so both of our phones were on my contract again.

I have one query and an FYI about this. We switched to the new 6s and wirelessly downloaded an iCloud backup previously made from the longstanding 5s the night before. This went smoothly and quickly with only one hitch. After upgrading itself to iOS 9.2 (out of the box was 9.1) and restarting, it loaded most of the Apple native apps, and showed the Home screen. However, although showing all the apps in correct folders from the prior 5s, only perhaps 40% of the apps were actually downloaded. The rest were dark/grayed out. Now the Apple tech who assisted me said to expect this, and that the darker apps would gradually download. I left it locked and powered overnight, but the same apps are still dark. If I try to open any grayed ones, it does switch from the app name to "Waiting," as if it knows it has to download it, but no downloading so far this morning. During the Restore from iCloud backup, we at one point used a "Skip" button as it wasn't accepting my known password, so the Apple tech said I could "Skip" and put in my password later when requested. That sounded plausible, so we did it. How do I get the rest of my apps downloaded from iCloud?

The FYI Is that when I talked to AT&T by phone before doing the upgrade at the store, they said they would give me $200 credit for my immaculate 5s, which is what their app calculated as the trade-in value. However at the store, the agent agreed to only $150 which covered the remaining payments on my 5s in their NeXt program. I still don't know why they wouldn't honor the price discussed with their telephone agent.
