I lived with it for 35 years until I had an ablation procedure.  It is a genetic defect, supposedly passed down to the descendants of William the Conqueror - supposedly the first person documented with the problem.

I am interested what app they used to monitor the afib - is is just an app that uses the microphone, or does it require add-on hardware as the other posts suggest?

I have a known floppy mitral valve since my younger days,  but no other big risks, so right now no other Rx is needed as far as treatments concerned with some recommendations  including  cut out the coffee.. which I could use right now!!

I don't know what the monitor exactly was.. it was an app I think but more than an app; He had a metal plate attached to the back of the iphone;
I had to hold the phone with my fingers touching the metal plate-not the thumb which held the phone from the front.
He was able to send out the results to the hospital when I ended up for the day.

Interesting history about William the Conqueror!!  I'm going to check into that, but I hardly doubt he was an ancestor of mine.
