Check the head under which it's written. try and create a new test contact with that address and see if it shows.

On my iphone 4, some of the contacts do not have the postal address displayed even when it has been put in. I thought at first this was a fault in sync or in my MS Outlook setup, but have discovered that, even when I type a postal address direct into the iphone, it sometimes fails to appear in the entry in Contacts. However, it is there, because a search for the address (not the name) calls up the name of the person. So the information is certainly in the iphone, but is concealed. Even deletion and rewriting may not solve this issue, which seems to apply to a certain number of entries, not all.

This is a very serious problem, as I can call up an entry when I know I have the address yet cannot get it. A search reveals the relevant entry but still with no address displayed - it is bizarre.
