I am pretty sure it IS in the PC, I just don't know WHERE.

The common denominator is the computer.....   I just don't know if it's hardware, or software, but I'm leaning software.     And if it is software, like you said, it may be hard to find.

You probably have other USB ports to try.

Also, you could try turning on Wifi syncing for a trial.
