By connection, do you mean connecting to email account servers? Without seeing what you are putting in it is kind of hard to diagnose, but check with the email providers and see that you have the correct current settings especially for server names, smtp, use of SSL, Authentication, and server port. They might have changed.
I just noticed that I have my Mac set to use port 995, while my iPhone 4S is set to use 110.
I assume you have the username and password correct.
