I had given up on Touch ID earlier as being far too unreliable.
On the other hand, not having thought previously about which fingers I used to press the Home button, or how I pressed it, I made one copy of each of 4 fingers.
Now, I realize I never used 2 of those fingers in normal use, and rarely a third, mostly using just my right thumb. So what I've done now is made 2 different readings both of my right thumb, at different angles.
That done, I now find that Touch ID is *MUCH* more reliable.
One of the few failures, this morning, was right after I had washed my hands, so I wasn't surprised that it might fail.
