I would prefer a media app as well. It's not unusual for me to go from audio podcast to video podcast to straight music, which the original ipod app accomplished. I have not been a fan of the music/video split. It's another app to open when the previous one should be able to handle it.
I'm presently giving the podcasts app a spin. Maybe I'll like it ok. But knowing one program could do all of the things three are now handling shows were my vote would go. If I had one, that is.
