I have had my iPhone X for a week now. Initially I was impressed with the speed and the camera. I had a three year old 6+ before and was ready for a new phone. It lost battery power FAST. And it was slow with the new iOS. I think I will quit upgrading after a year or so. The old phones never seem to handle the new software swell as a new phone. Planned?
I use my phone a lot to read kindle books and the 6+ displayed wider lines in landscape mode than the new X. This is weird because although the X is about ½ inch shorter it has a ½ inch wider screen. Hopefully the Kindle app will eventually take advantage of all that wasted screen space on each end.
The new gestures are easier once you adapt.
I had to update to High Sierra on my desktop in order to run the compatible iTunes. This caused me grief in iPhoto (new Photos could't recover my iPhoto picture file-still have the photos backed up - just not organized) and in Mail (I use tons of rules which all had to be redone - not finished yet).
