Thanks so much for the information. Very glad to know. I checked out the site. The app is free but the unit which is needed is about $129.00.
I'll think about this.. and ask my doc when I see him if I should get it.... it could be very useful but at this point my situation is not serious. I could have more
of these incidences as I get older, but not having other big risks it is not a big concern. I like this idea however, and will look into it!! Thanks.

Hi Ellen - I have an Alive-Cor EKG unit that communicates with an iPhone to record EKGs as needed. It used to be by prescription only but I think now it is over the counter. Check out www.alivecor.com. You can check yourself anytime, print out great charts of your EKGs for your physician and can consult their cardiologists ( for an extra fee). I have an irregular heartbeat ( not atrial fib). I use the alive Cor to help determine if I need to see the doctor quickly.Sue

My neighbor (a cardio-fellow) came over and all I had to do his hold his iPhone, and it read my EKG right away. That was really KOOL! Yea, well I did spend the day at the hospital observation, but the A-Fib converted to normal rhythm by itself so got to come home at night after being monitored all day.Ellen
