My son has an iPhone 4S running 7.0.6. Mine is an iPhone 4 running the same iOS. We have an AT&T plan with both phones under my one account. The plan states "unlimited" cellular data, which when pressed AT&T admitted it really amounted to about 5-6 GB per month combined after which the download speeds would be reduced. This occurred once in December when he (but not me) received a text warning from AT&T (at about 4.5 GB) after which his download speeds went way down for the rest of the month.
All that is just historical background. Here's the problem: For the last week or so, his cell data usage displayed on his phone under Settings-->Cellular-->Cellular Data Usage has been about 4.5 -5 GB, and mine on my phone about 150MB. On the AT&T website for our account, and on the MyAT&T app, his CDU is about 2.5-3 GB, nowhere near 4.5 as on his phone. Mine correlates roughly with my usage on my phone.
Calling AT&T, they had no explanation of why his phone would register such a high number of GB used, but after a long talk said that we would be judged by what AT&T saw on its website data, not his phone. Their only speculation (which they should either know for sure Y/N) was that his phone was depicting cell plus wifi usage, but that doesn't correlate with his wifi usage. Has anyone seen this sort of thing before or know what might be occurring?
One other brief related issue is AT&T couldn't tell us where to look to find cellular data usage independent of wifi data usage, inferring that they just don't collect that data, which I doubt.
Thanks,
Dick Johnson
