Not very capable? In what way?
For me, I can see all my email, folders, etc. No settings to alter such as filters, but I am using my iPad/iPhone to access read and send email as an alternate device.

But I thot the elderly lady in question was reading her mail only on the iPad. IPad mail's not very capable.
