You can copy the whole message thread to your Mac with PhoneView by ecamm.com by cable.

Some of my text message threads are long. And important. Now that some
people *really* avoid the phone itself, and don't care much for email, these
messages can be pretty vital to save.
I have been trying to find an app that can save my text messages, so that
they can be archived. Androids have this, but I can't find an app for my
iPhone. Does anybody know of one?
