[apple-iphone] Very long sync times

 

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 6.0.1, iTunes version 11.0.1.12, and a PC running Windows 7 64-bit. Some time around the update to iPhone 6.0.1 or iTunes 11.0.0.12, I'm not sure which, my sync times have gotten unbearably long. When I hit Sync, iTunes freezes solid (I can't even reposition the window) for 30 seconds before I see "waiting for sync to start". After 1 1/2 minutes, I see "Backing up" displayed. Then there are about 3 minutes of various activities until it finally gets to the point where it starts copying apps to the phone. This where the wait goes crazy! After 15 minutes it has only reached app 3 of 14. What happened? What is to blame, iPgone or iTunes? Can I back one of these down to a previous version to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
