I also use Avast, have for a long time. Also, no change to my modem or firewall software. Not sure why that would matter since I am going from the PC to the iPhone through USB port, no network involved there. After syncing, I noticed that there was an update to one of my apps. As an experiment, I downloaded the app and did another sync. Nothing else had changed, just that one app. It took over an hour to sync that one app. Thanks for your suggestions.
