Re: [apple-iphone] Videos/Photos Side-way

Unfortunately the feature isn't available on the iPhone itself though it's there in an ap called MyPhoto. Perhaps in one of the updates. Apple are slowly but surely putting many of the aps out of business.

Re: [apple-iphone] iCloud

Oh ok. I recalled a discussion here saying that Photostream images cant be deleted in iCloud, or at least in the cloud. I see now that Photostream images are in iPhoto but I dont have a MAC yet.  I see in iOS6 that the images can then be deleted. Not really an issue, just an observation, as I'm not familiar wth iCloud

I did expect to see my apps on iCloud though.

The reason for my post is that I hope to get a MacBook soon, so trying to think ahead of migration issues I may face, apps being the main concern. I read after my post when I was out that I need to setup a Windows iCloud program, so will do that tonight. Ill see what that shows out of interest.

When I get my first MACOS device, Ive come to the reality that I probably cannot easily import my iTunes as I can if I change hard drives on my PC or change PC's, and even if I can I will just setup MAC iTunes clean. I just need to know that after Ive set MAC iTunes, that while I can resetup the iTunes sync settings, that I will have my apps there. Or would they be imported by Transfer Purchases

Sorry for all the questions!

I just re-re-re-read what Apple has to say about PhotoStream.

I didn't see anything about viewing PhotoStream images ON iCloud.

Re: [apple-iphone] Videos/Photos Side-way

Why do all of my various camera photos always display correctly over the years ? Landscape and portrait and the latter can be at left or right rotation. The orientation is part of the data hence they always are shown the right way.

When I googled the iPhone issue it was mentioned that the orientation wasn't in the exif or wasn't complete I can't recall the exact explanation

Either way a pc is aware of the orientation of any camera photo but on an iPhone It isn't seeing the same info. I must do another test as I just noted down the ways to hold an iPhone for images and video, to avoid this in the future

And that couldn't be the PC's fault?

Your digital camera almost certainly has no way of recording the orientation of the picture taken. The iPhone does -- it is right there in each image's EXIF data.

Now, I know Macs are "smart enough" to act on that information, and display images in their correct orientation (although I don't know how video works in this regard).

Perhaps Windows machines simply lack this capability.

[apple-iphone] iCloud

I just logged into iCloud for the first time.

I have Photostream on, apps backed up to iCloud, but all I see is:

Mail Contacts Calendar FindMyPhone iWork

Nothing else to click except my name and sign out. I expected to see Photostream photos or thumbnails, and my apps.

What I am doing wrong?

Cheers

Re: [apple-iphone] Downloading pics to my desktop

Julie,
At the bottom of the window to select the program there should be an option to select a non-listed program, maybe browse? Use that to select Ulead and tick the box to use it every time.

Regards, Dave

Photostream is an iCloud option in iOS. If on, that will upload photos you take on that device to iCloud, and they will appear on all your other iOS devices if Photostream is on on them.

Re: [apple-iphone] Podcast Listeners Rejoice

Charles, the hang in Podcast is because it is not using what you downloaded, it is streaming it, fresh. In other words it is using your mobile data allowance, instead of using what you have already downloaded over your non-mobile data allowance.

Hint, it is duplicating your what you can download over non-mobile means. Got it?
