[apple-iphone] Request for SIM card recommendation for use in Ireland

Hi, I'm a brand new member of this group and also a brand new owner of an iPhone SE, although I've had other Apple products for years - a MacBook, iPod and iPad.  I know I'm entitled to support from Apple but thought I'd try this group first.

Yesterday after calling a hotel I was given four options to connect to the right person. I hit the 1 but nothing seemed to happen. I tried it two more times with no luck.  This morning I thought maybe I had to hit the green phone button after choosing an option number but just hitting the 1 seemed to work. Perhaps the hotel was having a problem with its phone system or is this something that sometimes happens with an iPhone?

Next question.  I'm heading to Ireland in the fall and would like to enroll in an International plan.  Do any of you have any particular recommendations for a SIM card or warnings about SIM cards to stay away from?  I'd prefer to preorder from Amazon rather than trying to deal with the purchase in the Shannon airport.  Thanks.  Joyce Keay
