Hi, Thank you all for your responses. I've just chatted with Verizon and found that I can use their international travel pass which uses the phone's existing SIM. Somebody advised me to turn off data roaming but I guess I need to have it on while making a call but need to shut it off immediately afterwards. So I'm good to go. Joyce Keay
