Is her software updated to 10.1.1? One of the recent updates was specifically for Verizon connection issues. If she is current and still having issues, I would contact Apple or Verizon.

She has been experiencing loss of connection to our home WIFI at least a few times a week and also loses connection to the Verizon cell network on a regular basis. When these failures occur I can be in the same room or car and not have a problem with my iPhone 6 plus.
Doing a reboot helps with the Verizon connection and sometimes the WIFI connection is reestablished with the passage of time.
Anyone else having problems? I will try to have her return to the Verizon store but that can be a tough chore.
