This happens to us QUITE OFTEN. I am surprised it doesn't happen to everyone else. I had asked about this before a long time ago on this forum.
You have to go to everyone's phones and deselect something from settings. This happens to our family everytime there is a major software upgrade.
Setting - messages - text forwarding (make sure this is off)
Then settings - messages - send & receive - MAKE SURE ONLY YOUR NUMBER IS SELECTED.
You must do this on each phone/iPad on your plan. This is a crazy, major flaw in the software that iMessage DEFAULTS to all devices when a major update happens.....
