Re: [apple-iphone] Gmail Connection Away From Home

I may have mentioned this in another post  but it have some relevance to your experience.

I was in a relatives house where I have used the WIFI to connect to the Internet on multiple occasions. More recently our iOS devices and our MacBook pros connected to the WIFI but then nothing happened other than a long wait. No pages ever loaded.

One time out of frustration I turned off the Wifi on my iPhone 6+ and all of a sudden I was connected. Apparently the WIFI was not connecting to the Internet and for a reason unknown to me the phone was not using cellular.

I am wondering if you had your connection issue at only one location or were there other locations involved.

I was away from home this morning.  Wi-Fi picked up on the free connection where I was at, but with Wi-Fi on email could not be receive from Gmail into my Mail program nor could I access Gmail online.  I turned off the Wi-Fi on my phone and everything worked.

Doesn't seem like I should have to remember to turn Wi-Fi off and on like that.  Seems as though if Wi-Fi don't work in an area the phone should automatically go a cellular connection.  BTW, I'm with an AT&T network.

Thanks,
Bobbie

Have you tried the highest rated email app?
With 4.5 stars in iTunes, the Yahoo Mail app is the highest rated email app on the market. What are you waiting for? Now you can access all your inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, AOL and more) in one place. Never delete an email again with 1000GB of free cloud storage.
