Gang, we are now 2 for 2. We got our Toyota to play spoken directions over the car stereo and we got our daughter's Hyundai to speak them, as well. Same solution.
Find the display that allows you to choose which entertainment 'input' option you want: AM, FM, maybe iPod, USB or BT. Select BT. This might bring up what appears to be a music player, possibly identifying a song that could be played on your iPhone. Feel free to start the music but that's not needed.
With this screen active, start the Google Maps (or Apple Maps) travel directions and start driving. If you have our experience, even if you have started to play a song from your iPhone, the directions will now be heard over your sound system.
Worked for our different makes.
Let me know what happens. Good luck!
David
I've got one of those. Using it with the iPhone 5S didn't make a difference. Still no sound with or without Bluetooth on. The 7 is new. I'll try it.CDYou can get chargers which plug into the cigarette lighter socket. These
are inexpensive and ones with 2 USB sockets mean you can charge 2 devices
at once.
