I was pondering this same question. I asked my friend to borrow her iPhone 6+. The iPhone fit in my front pocket, but the phone is so large that sitting down with the phone in my front pocket was very uncomfortable for me. I'm an average size lady, so weight isn't an issue. I don't feel comfortable carrying my phone around in my back pocket. So I decided to buy the iPhone 6 wich fits nicely and comfortably in my pocket.
An iPhone case with a clip might be a solution.
