You might want to check on the status of your local Radio Shack outlet. I have read the company is in a pretty dire financial situation and last I heard they planned to shutter a number of locations. Some annalists suggest the company is burning cash so bad that this coming holiday season is critical so the company's overall survival.
No not faster than right away, but right away means I have to drive out to the Apple Store, which isn't too bad, or have apple mail it to my home which is going to be several weeks-maybe a monteh. If I were in a real rush to spend $500 I'd get it "right away" but I'm giving RS another chance to let me know if they can get me a phone sometime sooner. However the rep there is supposed to ask her distributor to find out if they can get it or not so if that doesn't happen I'll go with Apple. Actually I established a relationship with someone at Apple and I think her price might actually better than what RS told me. So I'll find out soon what the real scoop is and go with who ever has a lower price.
