Re: [apple-iphone] Re: GPS

Ken -

It is an odd request, I know.  Even if the GPS app would have a mileage scale that could show an approximation, it would be helpful.

I travel solo a lot for work.  I have had trips where I need to make a quick stop for gas, restroom, etc - but I would like to get an idea of distances still.

I appreciate the comments and feedback!

Jim

Jim, I use MotionX GPS Drive, and in order to do what you want, I would set intermediate "stops" in the route. I don't know of any apps that would do exactly what you are wanting.

I would still like to find a GPS app that would help determine distances within a trip. For example, if traveling from Chicago to Louisville, and mid-route, I would like to know how far I am from Indianapolis - without having to redo the entire trip.

Similarly, if I am traveling out west, where there is usually a fair distance between cities, it would be nice to determine how far the next city is - even if it is not the destination.

Hi Thomas,

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Google Maps.

It's dead on and easy to use.

And, added to all this, it's FREE!
