I use to think GSM was the only phone I'd have. Recently I've thought about and asked myself, why? I don't go out of the country, so CDMA is good for me. VZ has better coverage in some of the areas I go to and ATT doesn't. So, I'm going to take the plunge and try VZ for 2 years. I'm giving up being grandfathered into unlimited with ATT. That's the only thing that has stopped me in the past. I may change my mind come next year.

Many of the areas where they use partnership agreements are not available to "pay as you go" customers, like along the highway corridor across southern Wyoming, and big hunks of Colorado. But until recently you could not get "pay as you go" service for an iPhone.

In the mountains in Northern CA the signal is weak or not at all. Next year my contract is up so I'm switching to VZ. One thing interesting, I had heard that ATT was not so good in NYC. A couple years ago when Rob and I were there, we had no problems. Always a signal.
