Re: [apple-iphone] Updated iTunes does not work

I did uninstall completely and reinstall straight after my first post. Windows updates promptly appeared and I rather thought that would solve it but it hasn't. Multiple reboots - iTunes simply sees nothing. On connecting the iPhone, Phone Companion now appears - there seems to be no way of telling this to go away anywhere in the Win 10 setup

Sounds like iTunes got glitched during update. Uninstall and reinstall.

This morning I got an update to iTunes v. 12.5.1.21. This new update cannot recognise Apple devices. Neither my own iphone 6 Plus, nor my wife's iPad Mini connects.

On connecting the Apple devices, nothing at all happens. iTunes does not open. If iTunes is opened with a click, all the usual beeps etc occur (this is Win 10) but no device icon appears in iTunes. My Computer shows the camera icon but there is no content. Both PC and iphone have been rebooted, I have repaired iTunes in the app manager, and have followed the Apple Help advice (during which I can identify no Apple device drivers at all anywhere in Device Manager).

An itunes sync was functioning perfectly well this morning, before the update arrived. I cannot, of course, back up at all (I was about to download iOS 10).

Any advice please?
