If I try to delete the other one, it says "Do you want to turn off backup and delete all backup data for "<iPhone>" from iCloud?" I don't want to do either of those, so I don't know how I delete just the one backup.

As do I.

I am.

I can tell which is which, one says "This iPhone" under the name and was
updated 2:55AM this morning, the other was last updated in July (plus
the current one has more information). The problem is there doesn't seem
to be a way to just delete the older backup. At least if I believe the
alert I get (I haven't actually tried it), I can only delete both
backups and turn backups off.

That's what I plan on doing (except I'll force an iCloud backup instead
of waiting and it already has a unique (to me) name), although I think
I'm going to bug Apple about it first.

Have you tried the highest rated email app?
With 4.5 stars in iTunes, the Yahoo Mail app is the highest rated email app on the market. What are you waiting for? Now you can access all your inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, AOL and more) in one place. Never delete an email again with 1000GB of free cloud storage.
