Re: [apple-iphone] hot hot hot

1)  I remember that system updates can require quite some energy.
Had you already updated the phone to iOS 9.3.5?

2)  I remember my late iPhone 4s suffering from poor wifi connecting. (It did not return from a second repair. I used the refund for the then upcoming iPhone 6.)
I seem to remember a report (the other week) that certain later iPhones may suffer from poor connections when the poor soldering has broken due to rudely laying them down. - I would have stored that message, but I can't find it.

3)  You may find some bit of consolation in the knowledge that recently something similar to your (and my) problem has occurred to Android users. Some suspect a bug in Android Wear (the equivalent of Watch OS), but I find even my currently SIM-cardless Nexus 5 affected when used as a dedicated GPS-logger, with wifi and Bluetooth switched off (and without Android Wear installed).

I do hope that (1) explains your observation!  :-)

My iPhone 6 Plus became extremely hot when it was not in use and not charging. The screen may have been on when I opened my phone. The battery seemed low. Is this a known problem?
