[apple-iphone] Upgrading with a slow connection

I realize this is the sort of question I might be expected to *answer*, not *ask*, but:

Since I have only a slow (2.8 Mbps maximum) internet connection, and no access to cable or FiOS, I am paying for a high limit on my cellular data, and downloading larger items by that route.

Which includes, for example, the latest iOS 10 and macOS Sierra.

What I have not been able to determine is whether there is some way I can *download* the watchOS upgrade (internet to iPhone) using the fast cellular data, then perform the install (iPhone to Apple Watch) at a later time.

Anyone have a clue about this?
