I removed and re downloaded, I see it has custom notifications, so it looks like the notifications are from GNS Science servers to my app that it knows is on my phone. I set the strengths etc to limit the alerts

Besides which app, the issue may be in the app not in other things on the iPhone.
You may temporarily have to de-select the quake alert. I sometimes have to do that in a weather alert app I have used.
