I don't know if my answer to your question ever posted, Jim. I have had so many email and group problems since I upraded my new phone.

I ended up unsubscribing from the group and having to resubscribe under a new email. So I'll try to post again and see if it gets through:

I think I tunes still needs work, but I did figure out how to get my side back on the left, I think, although it is still time consuming for some organization.

OK, when in itunes, if you choose the music icon or music text on the left at the top you will just get your songs, no left sidebar.

So then in the top center under the apple icon you will see my music, playlists, match, radio, itunes store. Choose playlists. When you do that the left side bar will appear.

I hope that is what you were looking for.

Now half way down on the side bar are the play lists you can add albums or folders there by choosing the + at the very bottom.

When you plug your phone into your computer or even if it works on wifi, there is an icon that looks like a phone (sort of) on the left side above the column on the

right. When you press on that while the side bar is available, you'll see your phone. When you choose that you'll see options on the left under the phone-

summary, music, tv shows etc. Choose music and that is where you can add or delete music from your phone which will be on the screen to the right.

choose sync music on the top and then you can check which music you want to add to your phone. Anything not checked will be taken off your phone.

Be sure after you make your choices to go to apply sync at the bottom right.

If there is anything in your itunes library you don't want, the you can go back to your music library and uncheck the song and sync. if you permanently

want to get rid of a piece of music, etc. go into the itunes library and highlight it and command/delete on keyboard to put it in the trash.

deleting music in playlists will not delete it in the library.

The problem in organization I have is when I make a folder in the play list, and then move a song form the library to the play list it doesn't go right into the folder I want

It goes at the bottom of the lists with other music sitting there. Then I manually have to drag the song from the bottom of the list and add it into the folder. It is hard to explain.

I was getting those and now I don't as long as I have my music or playlists chosen.

I like when I search for an artist, I get a list of all their albums with album art in list format. Beside each album cover is a list of the songs in each album. I have yet to figure out how to get all my albums to do this without having to search for a specific artist.
