Hi Jim & Otto & Christopher,
Thanks to all for your help. Getting to know the iPhone using a
state-of-the-art version is a slow process at my age…
I dragged the file into the File Sharing pane (under the "Apps" tab of
the iPhone sync window). I don't remember whether I selected the app
in the left section, but the file has gone into the iMovie app's
files. There's no sign of it in the iPhone's iMovie app.
The apps I have to choose from in the left hand pane are:
Blackvue (a dashcam app)
Google Earth
iMovie
iPhoto
Kindle
Pages
I guess I should have chosen iPhoto?
Can I re-allocate the file? If not, how do I delete the file? Dragging
away just copies, delete is greyed out in iTunes menu bar…
Otto, the file is the one that I made by converting that 9.1 GB .mov
monstrosity into a 728 MB .mp4 - I didn't set any presets so Handbrake
would have used default values.
Christopher - I like VLC and have used it on my desktops for a long
time. If I install the VLC iPhone app will it pop up in the iTunes
file sharing area?
regards,
Ian
