Thanks to everybody who made suggestions... I tried a few of the free apps and found one that does exactly what I want to do... called "Server Auditor - SSH client" from Crystalinix.
For what I have tried, it acts pretty much like "Terminal" on my Mac and I can use it to control my Raspberry Pi computer from my iPod Touch... and later on, from my iPhone when I get it.
