I have a dirt cheap clear gel case at the moment, while I wait for my new case. Surprisingly I really like this cheap one. Its gel, so is soft but not too soft, and it has a lip so protects very well. being clear you can see the phone, which is pretty good
The case I ordered and hasn't arrived yet is a ZeroChroma VarioProtect
It reviewed very very well. It has a stand that folds in flush.
NOTE:
The 5S is the same dimensions as the 5, so a case for the 5 will fit. BUT you may or may not see that a case is listed for the 5 and not 5S, or it is incompatible or it may not state that, even though dimensions are identical.
Here is why
1. Some cases cover the home button, the 5S still works as stated except you cannot use the Touch ID
2. The 5S case requires that the inside lip surrounding the camera cutout at the top/back of the phone is black. The 5S has a dual flash that allows it to colour correct when flash mode is used, and if that inner lip is coloured or clear it won't colour correct (is that the proper term?) correctly. As in a face may appear the wrong colour due to the flash and surrounding objects but the correction is supposed to colour correct the face so it appears normal

Subject: [apple-iphone] Recommendations for a good iPhone 5s case
Hi all,
Any recommendations for a good iPhone 5S case. My wife currently has the NuGuard case but while it looks nice and does a great job protecting the phone, it isn't really compatible with the iHome radio/dock or even using the audio output cables for connecting to audio input in the car.
She has to remove the case to do that. The apple charger cable is fine because it is small enough and deep enough that it has enough room through the case to charge the phone.
Thanks,
Jay
