I purchased a USB car charger from Amazon that arrived yesterday.

I had a seven-hour drive yesterday, and my new iPhone 5 died with about two hours to go.
I wish I had a car charger, but this new one seems to work okay. The bad part is only having the one charging cable, so I have to remember to always bring it or pack it.
I will keep an eye open for the adapter...
