I had to navigate to and from a point about 25 miles away , in the
twisty maze of streets that pass for main roads here in Boston's near
North suburbs, using Apple maps. .
My 15-year-old daughter (who has NO sense of direction and some
spatial learning difficulties) got hopelessly confused trying to
steer me along the blue line, so on the way back I tried the voice
commands
It went *really* well.
At one point I deliberately veered off the route, once I was in more
familiar territory, and the map app didn't lose a beat, steered me
onto a side street I'd never been on that turned out to be a very
efficient route.
(it's a pretty tangled area - this is the google maps
version:http://goo.gl/pr3GV . Note that there are NO cross streets
that go across the Fells, and the main streets through Medford square
are all one -way! )
If only it didn't call a rotary a "roundabout" it'd be perfect.
