Have you tried rebooting the phone. You can try both a normal reboot, holding the sleep/wake button until you see the slide to power off and then sliding to power off. If that doesn't work try a soft reset. Hold the sleep/wake button and home button until you see the Apple logo.

Hi, I have an iPhone SE. It is 90% charged. I was getting a message that the phone was not backed up but that has gone away. But what is happening is that when I hit the phone icon I get a mostly blank screen with only Verizon at the top (showing 1 bar and the fact hat I'm connected to wifi), the time, and the amount it is charged and the fact that it is charging. or I get a completely black screen with just a little green rectangle at the upper right corner.
