Oops. All of that, but at the point of tapping on 'password options' (in light blue text) choose the 6 digit option.

The directions are the same, just choose the 4 digit option instead of 6 digit or custom options.Touch ID & Passcode➡️(Enter current password)➡️Scroll to 'change password', tap it➡️Enter your current password again➡️Don't enter a new password.
