Re: [apple-iphone] Little confused about syncing

I have too many apps on my phone so want to delete some. If I delete from my phone will they be replaced on the phone if I don't remove them from iTunes on my MacBook?

If you sync your iPhone to your Macbook, then you should connect them, go to "Apps" in the left pane, then select the ones you want to remove by finding them in the list and clicking "Remove".

Then sync.

This accomplishes the dial tasks of removing them from the iPhone and removing from the list in iTunes of apps to be sync'd. They will still be listed (as present on the Mac) in the view shown, but listed as "Install" instead of "Remove".

Also I'm having some difficulty matching apps from my phone to those on the MB. Should I assume those are discontinued or no longer available on iTunes?

Maybe, maybe not.

With the iPhone connected to the Macbook, in iTunes, click on iPhone icon in iTunes, then on the menu File — Devices — "Transfer purchase from…"
