[apple-iphone] Re: Wi-Fi/Bluetooth trouble - Time for a wipe and restore?

Rich -

I actually thought about that after I had already done the previous sequence.

So, I did it again last night and after the [Restore iPhone] step I tested the Wi-Fi (didn't have a Bluetooth device handy.)

Bad news, same problem. The phone won't see any of the dozen or access points here at work or at home. If I stand next to an access point, I can select it and then the Wi-Fi does kind of work up to about 15 feet.

Oh well, good news I guess is that it pretty much means the problem is in the hardware. The software configuration and the provisioning that gets pushed down to the phone here at work are not the cause.

Cheers!

I'm also having this problem... I called sprint & they said its because they are updating their towers to 4G ( I have the iPhone 4S 3G). But I've been having this problem since last October. I can only receive pictures through iMessage

Restore the iphone to factory condition and test it before you restore the
backup.

[apple-iphone] RSS URL for this group?

Hi!

I'm 99% sure that there used to be a nice orange [RSS] button on the home page for this group. I know that I have been receiving the group postings via RSS.

The feed aggregator that I picked to replace Google Reader had a meltdown last week and lost everyone's settings. Now, I'm trying to rebuild my list of RSS subscriptions from memory.

Can anyone tell me the RSS feed URL for this group?

Thanks!
tom

[apple-iphone] Re: Wi-Fi/Bluetooth trouble - Time for a wipe and restore?

Hi!

To follow up, I did what I think is a proper wipe and restore.

Didn't help, so I'm down to thinking the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip is dying or the antenna is not well connected.

Now I'm down to deciding

1) Pick up a cheap 4S
2) Wait until the price on the 5's come down more

Here's what I did for my wipe and restore:

1) [Backup Now]
2) [Sync]
3) [Restore iPhone]
4) [Restore Backup]
5) [Sync]

Everything came back just fine -- including my Wi-Fi/Bluetooth problem :-(

Cheers!

[apple-iphone] iTunes lost the plot (again)

Further to last message, itunes has just done it again. I have synced a couple of times since I reset all the sync yesterday (as my previous message said). I just noticed that it had stopped syncing Contacts etc again a few minutes ago. Lo and behold, the settings have been unchecked again. When I reset them - it thinks my iphone has been syncing with another user - but it hasn't. Something in this software has changed, but I haven't (to my knowledge) had an update for several weeks. I keep getting tutorial notices too - has it upgraded without informing me?
