[apple-iphone] Re: Help with spam calls

I had a lot of problems in the past few years with spam calls on my home phone (which is why I did not want to rely totally on a cell phone.) To make a long story short I eventually got a new number and unlisted my phone.
However I also wrote congressman several times. Recently I got a call from someone in the government involved with these calls. I hope I wrote down her number, but have no idea right now where. She said that if you are on the do not call list, home phone or not, report the number to (I think) the do not call list. She said they well procecute even if they are charities, but that is more difficult, especially if she has a lot of complaints. Actually I remember she called me because she got a lot of complaints about a number I had complained about. She said they are WAY BEHIND because of the lack of staff members, but still her office is trying to prevent these spam calls (at least for New York State.)

As for my cell phone, I do not get many at all..once in a while. Sometimes I pick them up and get the LONG recording but at the end it asks press such and such a number to be taken off their call list, which I do. Same with texts I get, if they are spam calls or unsolicited calls I write STOP in the reply and I have to say I have not gotten a spam text or call on my iphone in some time, but then as I said, I don't use my iphone for too many calls. If I am home I use my landline phone. My husband uses his iphone more than I do and he has gotten more spam time calls and tests than I do. He just ignores them.
