David, I would not call it common but it does happen. The iPhone is a
handheld computer. They get glitched sometimes. I have had one of every
model of iPhone and 3 models of iPad. and they all do it. I have never
considered it a big deal. I just reboot and go on. It clears up memory and
gives you a fresh start. Many in this group recommend rebooting once a week
so it does not happen when you really need it. AT&T has told me to turn the
phone off completely for a few minutes and then back on. This allows the
phone to reconnect with the towers. Brent
