I lost my grandfathered unlimited plan a couple years ago when I had to upgrade from 200 texts/month to unlimited. All of my siblings except one has an iphone so when our parents fell into ill-health and we started a group text for updates it was text instead of iMessage. You'd be surprised how many of 200/month can get eaten up with "omg" and "lol" replies (not from me). I think my current plan is a throttled unlimited but I use wi-fi a lot so don't worry about throttling.
