Hubby and I wanted to cut our cell bill down. We went to Cricket. We found out Cricket uses all the AT&T cell towers and it's less expensive than AT&T. Bring your phone to Cricket and they'll hook you up. You can get a phone from them but it's mainly a bring your own phone service.

At home, I get no signal at all which is inconvenient since I have a home office. Some years ago I used an AT&T app called 'Mark the Spot' to capture signal data. After a couple of months of daily recordings AT&T gave me a microcell which is my own personal cell site plugged into our Internet. It's still working great and solved the very local signal hole for me. AT&T doesn't do that anymore but there is a better solution. If you haven't already go into Settings and turn on WiFi Calling. With that on, anywhere anytime, your phone calls get transparently routed over WiFi. Home, office, shopping, anywhere with WiFi.Doesn't help with your fundamental question of trying to get your cell phone bill down.Have you looked at two family plans?
