Re: backing up [apple-iphone] Notes and photos

I use iCloud as well. I love the service.  The Files app that comes on iOS devices is the easiest way for me to get my files into iCloud. I'm paying 99¢ extra for 50gb a month. I really like it.

Hi all:

I have read many of these posts, but what this 82-year old geezer really needs is a simple, step by step explanation of how I can save (back up, I guess) my Notes (some are very important) and my photos, and my contacts. My main worry are the Notes. My wife had her purse stolen recently with her iPhone in it, and she is feeling the pain.
Is there a simple way of doing this, without having to visit the iPhone store (and I may have to try that)?
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Backups, backups, backups!

Whatever e lse you do, keep at least 2 backups on devices (NAS, external drive, other computer) you own and can access whenever you need them.

The OP wants to store them on a device they control, not on someone else's server, and to each their own decision.

Besides that many if these storage services have you give up the rights to the images, there is one other possible problem.

Years ago, there was a storage service based in, I believe, southeast Canada, that I had used as a primary place to store digital images. I don't remember the name.  But one night, they folded their tent and sto le off into the night. No warning, no indication, they just vanished.

One one list I was on, a member happened to live by their location, and so they went by a day or two later. They looked in the windows and saw evidence of a hasty removal of the servers and other expensive hardware and the rest in shambles. There was a note on the entrance saying good bye.

They fled in the middle of the night to avoid creditors, taking the servers and photos with them, never to be seen again. The images for hundreds of thousands o f user were gone in the blink of an eye.
